Central cooling plants are often the largest controllable electrical load in tropical commercial buildings. Spot readings and design figures rarely describe how the plant actually runs under real load, staging, and control sequences.
This project applied chiller plant system optimisation. the same discipline now productised on Negawatts.io as temporary instrumentation, performance studies, and measure, optimise, and verify pathways.
Specific power (kW/RT) is the headline metric: electrical input relative to cooling delivered. Moving from 0.75 kW/RT toward and under 0.60 kW/RT is a substantial change in plant economics and carbon intensity of cooling.
